If you’re looking for your next go-to album to soundtrack late summer nights, road trips, or quiet mornings with a coffee in hand… Calgary’s The Dust Collectors have you covered with their sophomore album, Cold Feet.
This group of six long-time friends has been making waves on the Canadian folk scene since 2018, and Cold Feet feels like their most personal (and playful) chapter yet.
A Deeper, Richer Sound on Cold Feet
Cold Feet invites listeners into a space of introspection, warmth, and everyday magic. True to form, The Dust Collectors deliver lush harmonies, thoughtful lyrics, and instrumentation that feels both classic and new.
The album explores themes of family, self-reflection, and finding joy in life’s smaller moments. You’ll hear a beautiful mix of guitar, pedal steel, fiddle, trumpet, and piano … there’s truly something for every folk fan here.
A standout moment? The second track, “Woman of the World,” which features a trumpet solo by renowned jazz musician André Wickenheiser. It’s an unexpected touch that feels bold and perfectly placed.
Behind the Scenes: From Calgary Studios to Festival Stages
Cold Feet is a labour of love, and a true team effort.
Half of the album was recorded with Phenix Warren at OCL Studios in Calgary, and the other half with Jeff Kynoch at Acme Recorders in Acme, AB. Mastering duties went to Dave Horrocks at Infinite Wave Mastering (yep, the same Dave who’s worked with Chris Stapleton and even mastered the Monday Night Football theme!).
So far, they’ve released two singles from the album: “Alberta” and “Love, etc.” Both tracks have been warmly received, racking up streams in 84 countries and accompanied by music videos that showcase the group’s authentic, down-to-earth vibe.
As a fun side note, the album was actually released two months earlier than planned. Why? The Dust Collectors wanted fans to enjoy it ahead of their big performance at this year’s Calgary Folk Music Festival.
Love that.
Meet The Dust Collectors
If this is your first time hearing about The Dust Collectors, let’s get you caught up.
Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, this six-piece alternative folk band came together after years of playing in separate projects. By winter 2018, they were writing songs and performing around the local scene — and they haven’t slowed down since (pandemics aside).
The band’s sound is rooted in folk but pulls from country and rock influences. Their six-part harmonies have become their signature, offering that bittersweet, nostalgic feel reminiscent of Fleet Foxes and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Their debut album, Outside In, dropped in May 2023. It introduced listeners to their collaborative spirit and intricate soundscapes. Now, with Cold Feet, they’ve taken things even further, proving they’re not just a band to watch but a band to follow closely.
The Dust Collectors’ songs have earned airplay on CKUA, CBC Radio, CJSW, and various online stations across North America. This summer, they’ll be hitting stages across Western Canada — including a big hometown set at the Calgary Folk Music Festival.
Listen and Connect
If you haven’t yet given Cold Feet a listen, do yourself a favour and dive in. You’ll find yourself coming back to it again and again… and again.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
