Danielle Ryan’s journey into country music started far from the bright lights of radio and record labels — on a dairy farm in British Columbia.
We sat down with Danielle to talk about growing up performing in church and musical theatre, teaching herself guitar so she could share her own songs, and how her time on the reality show The Next Star helped shape her confidence as an artist.
Raised in a hardworking farm family, Danielle credits her upbringing for the work ethic that’s carried her through the highs and challenges of the music industry. From collaborating with her brother on songwriting to navigating the pivotal moment of signing with 604 Records, she shares what it’s really been like building her career from the ground up.
We also talk about the nerves (and excitement) of releasing her very first single — a Christmas song she initially wasn’t sure about — and the surreal feeling of hearing her music on the radio for the first time.
Beyond the music, Danielle opens up about creativity, perseverance, her love of reading and audiobooks, and the importance of family support without pressure.
It’s a conversation about chasing big dreams while staying grounded in where you come from.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
