Fans of classic country music will be happy to hear that there’s a new music festival in Ontario. It was announced that on July 20th, 2019, the Big Sky Music Festival will be taking place at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte, and the lineup couldn’t be better.
It’s going to be a day of incredible music that will take you back to the good ole days. 3 classic country legends have been announced so far: Alabama, Travis Tritt, and Diamond Rio. More great artists to be announced soon!
The music may be a one-day affair, but it will be a weekend filled with fun! With a classic car show, camping, and a craft market, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.
Big Sky Music Festival 2019 Lineup
Selling 73 million albums worldwide, Alabama changed the face and sound of country music throughout the 80s. They are credited as one of the country artists who helped usher country music from niche, to the mainstream.
Alabama have charted 43 #1 singles including 21 #1 singles in a row, a record that will likely never be surpassed in any genre. They have won over 178 CMA Awards, Grammy Awards, ACM Awards and counting.
Their most popular tracks include: “Mountain Music”, “Roll On (18 Wheeler)”, “Wasn’t Through Loving You Yet” and MANY others.
They played Boots & Hearts Country Music Festival in 2012, and we can’t wait to get the opportunity to see them perform again.
One of the most decorated artists of all time, Travis Tritt has a career that spans almost 3 decades. This GRAMMY award-winning artist continues to sell-out shows and remain relevant in this fast-paced environment.
Out of his 11 studio-albums he released, 7 have been certified platinum. His career so far has produced millions in album sales, two Grammy award wins and multiple No. 1 singles on the Country radio charts.
Some of his top songs include: “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde,” “Here’s A Quarter” and “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive”, and so many more.
We can’t wait to see Travis Tritt take the Big Sky Music Festival stage this Summer.
If Alabama was the country band of the 80s, Diamond Rio was unmistakably the country band of the 90s. In fact, in 1991 they became the first country band to have their debut single reach number 1 on the charts.
The band has sold more than 10 million albums, won a Grammy Award, a Dove Award, six Vocal Group of the Year wins (CMA and ACM), earned five multi-week no. 1 singles, 22 Top 10 singles, three certified Platinum and five gold albums.
Since 1991, Diamond Rio has had 32 more singles chart on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart including: “Meet in the Middle”, “One More Day”, “I Believe”, and many others.
We can’t wait to witness the harmonies that this group have become so famous for. It’s going to be a great day!
This pint-sized, viral yodelling YouTube star has had quite the year! In 2018, a video surfaced online of this little man yodelling Hank Williams’ Lovesick Blues in the aisles of a Walmart. He was literally an overnight superstar with appearances on Ellen, and all sorts of TV talk shows. Almost immediately, he was signed to Big Loud Records.
Since then he has been touring around, and will be joining the lineup for the inaugural Big Sky Music Festival. It’s going to be so fun to see this young man showcase his big voice on the main stage. In case you somehow missed it, here’s the video that shot him to fame.
It’s almost a no-brainer to have Jason McCoy join this fantastic lineup. Being a local staple in the community, and one of the morning hosts on Kicx 106, we’re surprised he wasn’t enlisted to be part of the initial announcement of this festival. This Summer is going to be a busy one for this country guy! Not only is he performing at this festival, but he’s also the host for the 2019 CMAO Awards in Ottawa.
We can’t wait to see Jason McCoy performing in Oro-Medonte!
The Redhill Valleys
The Redhill Valleys will be joining the lineup for the 2019 Big Sky Music Festival. According to the CMAO, “We can tell you all that this is a group that you should be paying attention to. From Hamilton to Toronto and across the province, you owe it to yourself to keep an eye out for tour dates near you.”
They are incredibly talented and put on one hell of a show! We can’t wait to see them perform this Summer.
We’re so excited for the 2019 Big Sky Music Festival. Be sure to keep your eyes out for more updates about this festival. We’ll update this page with all the latest news.
