Winners from the 2019 CMA Ontario Awards

The 2019 CMAO Awards in Ottawa

This past weekend marked the 2019 CMA Ontario awards in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre. The night, hosted by Jason McCoy, was filled with celebrations of great country music from Ontario.

The night started with a tailgate party along Sparks Street downtown Ottawa which featured performances from Tiana Woods, Kansas Stone, Leah Daniels, Brea Lawrenson, and Jade Eagleson. It was a beautiful sunny day, which made it perfect for an outdoor concert, and a great kickoff to the Award show.

From there, artists, CMA Ontario members and industry professionals started to arrive at the NAC to walk the red carpet. Artists such as Tebey, Tim Hicks, River Town Saints, The Good Brothers, Arlene Quinn, Leah Daniels and so many others took the opportunity to walk the red carpet to take part in interviews, and get their photos taken by media and fans alike.

Once inside the venue in their seats, the award were kicked off by host Jason McCoy. There was definitely a clear winner at the CMA Ontario Awards this year. Meghan Patrick took home 5 awards, followed by Tim Hicks and The Reklaws with 2 wins each. The legendary The Good Brothers were honoured with the Impact Award for their enduring and positive footprint on the landscape of country music in Ontario.

Here is a list of all the winners of the 2019 CMA Ontario Awards – the winners are bolded for easy identification.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
