Owen Barney has released a new music video for “Thank Her For That” that we can all relate to right now during Quarantine …
This music video follows Owen Barney through literally every activity and emotion we have all been feeling since the beginning of this global pandemic.
The music video starts with Owen getting ready for a beach vacation. He’s packing a bag, getting ready to leave, grabs his boarding pass and leaves the house.
Shoutout to his label Wax Records who, according to the boarding pass in this video, now specializes in backyard vacations ??. Check out the Easter Egg in this screenshot from the music video.
When he leaves the house, we learn that Owen is stuck at home alone … just like everyone else.
The rest of the music video follows Owen Barney in his backyard relaxing in the pool, drinking some fruity beach drinks and trying to enjoy the sun … since he can’t actually enjoy the beach.
Almost all the activities he sets up are meant for two, but he finds a way to enjoy it all solo … double fisting margaritas, playing Beer Pong and Flip Cup.
Turns out, Owen really knows how to live it up during this pandemic!

Lyrics to “Thank Her For That” By Owen Barney
Yeah, yeah
Mhm, C’mon
I just spent all the money I had
Packed all my bags, dropped the pin in the map
Got on a plane, and I ain’t looking back
I can thank her for that
Call my friends and went to Punta Cana
Spent all our rent on a beachside cabana
Don’t want to leave, think I’ll stay here manana
And I’m all good with that
I can thank her for the sunshine
Gold tequila with a little lime
Since she left I’m on island time
Woah
And I ain’t thought of her blue eyes
Since she’s gone it’s all blue skies
I’m here having a good time
Woah
And I can thank her for that
I was sittin’ under this umbrella
When she walked up, said she had a dilemma
Can’t reach my back, can you rub in my sunblock
I can thank her for that
Got to talking, swam up to the bar
Tequila shooters, Bacardi noir Right
now were lying her under the stars
Well would you look at that
I can thank her for the sunshine
Gold tequila with a little lime
Since she left I’m on island time
Woah
And I ain’t thought of her blue eyes
Since she’s gone it’s all blue skies
I’m here having a good time
Woah
And I can thank her for that
Woah
Its funny how life works out (works out)
When its raining and it all comes down (comes down)
And the sky clears, and the suns out
I can thank her for the sunshine
Gold tequila with a little lime
Since she left I’m on island time
Woah
And I ain’t thought of her blue eyes
Since she’s gone it’s all blue skies
I’m here having a good time
Woah
And I can thank her for that
Yeah, yeah
yeah I can thank her for that (c’mon)
thank her for that
Yeah I can thank her for that
In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
