Mandy McMillan’s “LTMFG” Is a Self-Love Anthem With Teeth

Mandy McMillan's single

Mandy McMillan has never been one to mince words, and her latest single makes that crystal clear from the title alone.

“LTMFG” stands for “Let the Motherf***er Go,” and it does exactly what it says on the tin. The Edmonton-born country-pop artist wrote and produced the track herself, weaving together straight-shooting country storytelling with a rock backbone and just enough pop sparkle to make it impossible to sit still.

A Song Born From Honest Self-Reflection

McMillan has been open about where this one came from. “This song came after realizing that I was blocking my own peace by holding onto pain, expectations, and people too tightly,” she says. “It started as a funny post-breakup concept, but it carries a deeper message about surrender, self-worth, and liberation.”

That balance of humour and depth is exactly what makes “LTMFG” work so well. It never takes itself too seriously, but it never lets you forget the real emotional weight underneath. The result is the kind of empowerment track that hits different when you’ve actually lived it.

A Career Built on Going Her Own Way

McMillan’s road to this moment has been anything but ordinary. She got her start in Stony Plain, Alberta, winning a CMT Canada contest and opening for Trisha Yearwood at the Big Valley Jamboree before packing her bags for Nashville.

Her Music City chapter included opening for Blake Shelton, landing in the Top 10 of ole’s “Play for Publisher” competition, releasing her self-titled EP, and making a cameo in Kelly Clarkson’s “Tie It Up” music video. She also did the robot dance with Kelly Clarkson, which honestly just tells you everything you need to know about her energy.

Since coming home to Edmonton, McMillan has been firmly in the driver’s seat of her own career. Her 2022 album Dream Catcher showed real artistic confidence, and her 2025 single “Crazy Crazy” kept the momentum rolling. She has also been sharpening her production skills through Berklee College of Music online, which makes her total creative ownership of “LTMFG” feel even more meaningful.

More Than Just a Single

The song has already inspired McMillan to start writing her first book, “Every Single Girl’s Guide to Self-Love,” which feels like a natural extension of everything she’s pouring into this project.

“It’s so easy to hold onto things because we’re scared of the unknown,” she says, “but sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is simply let go of what’s no longer aligned. The lasting message of this song is about the permission to choose yourself without guilt and let heartbreak turn into empowerment and growth.”

There is real conviction behind every word of “LTMFG,” and that is what separates it from your average breakup track. Mandy McMillan is not just making music about moving on. She is building something bigger, and this song is the boldest chapter yet.

“LTMFG” is available now on all streaming platforms.

In country music, the Front Porch has long been a place of reflection. A place where you can look at the life you have inside that front door. A place where time almost seems to stand still, where you can get away. It’s also a place where you can go to observe the world as it passes by you. To think about your place out there beyond the driveway.
