Early Beginnings and Musical Upbringing
While raised in Toronto, Jessica Sevier’s country roots span outside the city limits to her family’s 100-acre farm in Warkworth, Ontario.
Growing up with her sister, she discovered her musical inclination early on and soon became an avid guitar enthusiast. Jessica’s sister became her first mentor, teaching her three chords that laid the foundation for her lifelong relationship with the instrument.
Guided solely by her sister’s impromptu lessons, Jessica’s talent blossomed.
At just three years old, Jessica’s passion for singing was evident as she serenaded anyone within earshot.
Her vivacious spirit and innate musicality prompted her to participate in talent shows, where her performances began to garner attention. By the age of fifteen, she had established a regular presence in the vibrant music scene of Muskoka, playing the circuit every summer.
Driven by a burning desire to share her talent with a broader audience, Jessica decided to make her way into Toronto, where new opportunities awaited her.
Committing To A Career In Music
Seeking to refine her craft and broaden her musical horizons, Jessica pursued formal education in Classical Voice.
She dedicated ten years to studying opera and art song, delving into the intricacies of vocal performance. However, her insatiable curiosity and thirst for experimentation led her to explore other aspects of the music industry, ultimately leading her to pursue studies in Audio Production.
Harnessing her voice as her most potent instrument, Jessica affirms that learning how to use it has been the pinnacle of her artistic growth.
Jessica says, “It was never a question if I wanted to do it. My first love has always been performing and music.”
The allure of the recording studio captivated Jessica at the young age of seventeen. Venturing into a downtown Toronto studio, she laid down tracks for four songs, marking the beginning of her recording career.
In 2019, she released her music for the world to hear, setting the stage for her artistic evolution. With the arrival of the pandemic, Jessica’s creative spirit found solace in her home studio, where she immersed herself in writing and collaborating with talented songwriters virtually.
This period of introspection allowed her to refine her sound and prepare for her next breakthrough.
“Confetti” And Beyond
Jessica stumbled upon a musical gem through a number of pitches she received that would change the course of her career. “Confetti,” a radio-friendly, catchy, and poppy song, resonated deeply with her, and she poured her heart and soul into its creation.

“My vision came to life so quickly, it’s one of my favourite projects. It’s so rocky and different and unique that it feels like me,” says Jessica on the song.
