7 Brand New Country Songs You Need To Hear: High Valley, Kalsey Kulyk, Nate Haller & More

7 country songs you need to hear

Canadian country is kicking off the year strong with fresh releases from some of the genre’s biggest voices and rising standouts.

From heartfelt storytelling to arena-ready hooks, new music from Jess Moskaluke, Parker Graye, Tenille Townes, and Tebey leads this week’s must-hear lineup … plus three emerging artists making serious waves.

Dive in and discover your next favourite Canadian country song.

Jess Moskaluke – “Last Rodeo”

It’s not Jess Moskaluke’s “Last Rodeo” with the release of her brand new single today. On top of getting her first cowboy hat, Jess says via Instagram, she “put her whole heart into this one”.

“Last Rodeo” is her first release of 2026 and falls on the heels of her 2025 barburner tracks “Life For Me” and “I Ain’t Country”.

Parker Graye – “Gas Station Flowers”

Following the release of “When Do We Stop Talking”, is Parker Graye’s newest single “Gas Station Flowers”.

Parker says, “It’s a quiet reckoning set to melody, a song about mistaking convenience for care, and the moment that illusion finally breaks.” You can catch “Gas Station Flowers” across editorials, including the cover slot on Spotify’s North Country.

Tenille Townes feat. Lori McKenna – “the acrobat”

Tenille Townes is breaking it down, leaning even further into the vulnerable, and collaborating with the iconic Lori McKenna on her newest song “the acrobat”.

I told Lori I wanted to write about the acrobat. About how close I’ve come to being that character in my life, shifting and contorting myself into whatever would be best for someone else.” According to her Substack, “the acrobat” will be the title track from her upcoming album.

Tebey – “That’s Gonna Leave A Memory”

Multi-platinum hitmaker Tebey is back with his brand new single “That’s Gonna Leave A Memory”. This follows the release of his January single “Always Be The One”.

Tebey has been going viral for a number of ‘country’ covers of some of our favourite songs, so it’s always great to see brand new music from him.

Here are three new songs from some emerging artists we have our eye on.

Karly Kryski – “Rolling Dice”

“Rolling Dice” is the new single from emerging Vancouver artist, Karly Kryski.

“Rolling Dice” tells the story of a love that keeps finding its way back, no matter how many times it falls apart. The single is her fifth, and a huge momentum for the creative moment she’s stepping into.

Mark Ledlin – “Drive By”

With the announcement of today’s single “Drive By”, Mark Ledlin also announces his first full length album Barstool Confessions, which will be released April 24.

Mark has been working toward a debut album over the last few years, after the viral release of “Drink About Me”, and the EP “Cowboys Wear Sneakers Too”.

Megan Dawson – As Good As It Gets

Calgary-based country pop artist Megan Dawson brings her new single “As Good As It Gets” to our radar this week.

Known for her playful melodies and catchy songs, “As Good As It Gets” is a reminder that good doesn’t mean you have to settle – you can ask for more. “Good” doesn’t have to be as good as it gets.

With the new year in full swing, artists are busy releasing their first tracks of 2026. Today’s a popular release day with many artists giving the new year a couple weeks before delivering new music.

On the heels of these single releases are album and EP announcements, tour announcements and more.

High Valley – “Paradise & Hurricanes”

High Valley kick off the new year with the release of the title track of their upcoming EP (and cross Canada tour) “Paradise & Hurricanes”.

“Paradise and Hurricanes seems to be the right way to summarize a relationship and a music career! ‘Along for the Ride’ is really a statement song about how to take the incredible highs and lows and find the balance somewhere in the middle.”

Nate Haller – “Thought About You”

Nate Haller dropped breakup single “Thought About You”, just after the announcement of his Country Rising tour. The new track offers another glimpse into the emotionally charged vocals that have fuelled his rapid rise.

Kalsey Kulyk – “Cowboy Crazy”

Dreamy western stylist Kalsey Kulyk released her newest single “Cowboy Crazy”. The single is the first to be revealed from the forthcoming EP, Her Rodeo, announced today for release on March 27

Among releases this week are a number of songs from emerging country acts as well.

Amber-Jo Bowman – “Counting Change”

The 2x Boots and Hearts semi-finalist released her first single of the year, which followed her rendition of the Christmas song, “Angels We Have Heard On High”. She says, “Sometimes the past is imperfect but it can still be the good ol days. And you grow up to realize you actually had all you needed and more.”

Angelica Appelman – “Half Hearted”

With a busy 2025, including a summer of festivals, Angelica Appelman releases her single “Half Hearted”. “I took some time last fall to grow, reset, and let the music lead, and every step brought me closer to this moment,” says Angelica on releasing new music this year.

Spencer Burns – “Almost Alright”

The pop and R&B-infused country stylist releases his brand new single “Almost Alright” to kick off the new year.

Dylan Burk – “If I’m Being Honest”

“If I’m Being Honest” is a brave release from Burk after struggling with his vocal health last year. Leading up to the release, Dylan says “This year tested me in every way. But l’ve never worked on myself with body, mind, music chasing every dream January’s about to hit different with new music.” The song was written with Wes Mack and Zach McPhee.
