Over the last year or so, we’ve noticed Canadian country artists sporting a new lifestyle brand …
After a little investigation, we found Northern Bronco.
Artists like James Barker and Robyn Ottolini have been sporting Northern Bronco recently.
Northern Bronco will be available this summer via their new storefront in Port Carling, Ontario!

A Little Bit About Northern Bronco
Northern Bronco was inspired by founder Alexa’s personal journey, including her struggle with PTSD. It’s a way to rediscover life’s preciousness and create a community for those of us who grew up in rural areas and share a common bond with others across the country.
The logo features a cowboy and a moose, reflecting the Canadian countryside and the spirit of country music – the stories of growing up here.
Northern Bronco serves as a reminder to embrace the freedom of the open road, take risks, and cherish life’s simple moments. It’s about going off the beaten path and creating your own trail.

Meet Alexa Gamache – The Founder Of Northern Bronco
1. Alexa, introduce yourself! Where are you from, what was your life like growing up?
Hi, my name is Alexa and I am the founder and owner of Northern Bronco. I grew up in the Ottawa Valley and now live in the Muskoka area with my mother being a police officer. I’ve moved quite a few times in rural Ontario.
I had an interesting childhood as I grew up in a home with a parent who was pretty abusive, and for me, the structure of the home didn’t feel like home, but the one thing that never changed as we moved across Ontario was the beauty of the world lifestyle, and the countryside. I found my young self finding peace in the forest, rivers and lakes, and that became home for me.
With family ties to the French River and the tri-town area and having grown up in places like the Ottawa Valley and Muskoka region, I have been inspired by the rural way of life and its beauty and this upbringing has inspired the creation of Northern Bronco.

2. When did you decide you wanted to start Northern Bronco? What were your career plans before this came into your life?
As I was trying to decide on a career path a few years ago, I definitely had the idea for Northern Bronco, but wasn’t exactly sure how to go about it. I have a Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Global Development Studies from Queen’s University as well as a law certificate, I knew I mentally didn’t feel strong enough to become a police officer like my mom or a doctor or a paramedic, but I always knew that whatever career I had I knew that I wanted to be able to help people.
Having struggled with PTSD and anxiety, I had to discover a new perspective on life which made me so passionate about wanting to celebrate life and encouraging others to do the same. That’s when I started thinking about creating a brand that was inspired by my upbringing and what has helped me keep going and has not only encouraged me to live, but enjoy living.
3. What is the “Northern Bronco”? What does it represent for your brand and the vision of the company? How do you feel it matches so nicely with Canadian country music?
Northern Bronco is a lifestyle brand that started as a passion project. Northern Bronco was inspired by my rural upbringing and country music and serves as a reminder to celebrate life and do what sets your soul on fire.
Growing up in the country, I know others will say the same; we are so passionate about our country music here. If you’ve been to a festival up here in the North, you know that everyone around you is singing their soul out. Country music is more than just music, it’s a lifestyle and it represents us, and the way of life that we know.
Often small town kids don’t feel like we’re part of something, but Northern Bronco has created a space for small towners to feel like we’re a part of something bigger and to be proud of where we’re from and the lifestyle in which we grew up.
4. Congrats on your storefront in Port Carling! When are you open and when can people shop Northern Bronco IRL?
Thank you so much. I am so excited about this next chapter in Port Carling. We are planning to open weather dependent – starting the long weekend in May with our hours being 8:00am to 5:00pm. June will also be weather dependent but should be open on weekends and seven days a week through July and August.
5. Who are your favourite (Canadian) country singers right now? What’s on your playlist?
We love our Canadian country singers here at Northern Bronco, but I definitely have a few who I circle on my playlist often and that would be James Barker Band, The Reklaws, Dallas Smith, Nate Haller, and Robyn Ottolini.
“Everyday is an opportunity to do more than just exist. Life isn’t just about getting by; it’s about celebrating the beauty right in front of us. Northern Bronco is for those who choose to live fully and do what sets their soul on fire.” – Alexa Gamache
