The music video for Sacha’s latest chart-climbing single, “Standards”, is out now, and it’s a fun one!
One thing’s for sure … when Sacha is involved in a music video, there’s no shortage of bright-coloured suits (can we get this girl some sponsorship?) and a lot of fun. “Standards” is a light-hearted track with a big message. Sacha said right when the song was pitched to her, she needed to record it; it just fit her and who she is as a person so well.

It’s about not being in the mood for settling, recognizing it’s not an unrealistic expectation to expect someone to respect you as a partner, and of course, if the dog doesn’t like them, they’re just not the one.
“The song best represents who I am and what I’m about,” she says.
The goal with this music video was to deliver an important message in a light-hearted way. The video was Directed by Travis Didluck, and produced by Ben Knechtel, and they really did a great job putting together a fun watch that delivered the intended message, while also letting Sacha show her personality.
“From speed dates, to checklists and even a puppy test … these guys just can’t seem to meet the ‘Standards’,” said Sacha.
The video involves a handful of unenthusiastic speed dates, checklists, and the ultimate puppy test! Fun fact … that’s actually her dog, Trooper in the video! And yes, those were his honest decisions.
Sacha says, while they couldn’t have a huge cast like her previous video, “Cheers“, being able to put the video together amidst the pandemic in a safe way allowed for some normalcy. The cast still got to have fun, and she had a blast.
Even prior to the video’s release, “Standards” has already found comfortable space on the Country Music charts, and has surpassed one million streams across platforms.

More About Canadian Country Artist Sacha
Sacha grew up in the small town of Warkworth, Ontario. She grew up in an artistically-inclined family. Both of her parents are multi-instrument musicians, and music was ever-present in her upbringing. She actually taught herself to play the guitar!
While she felt like she was supposed to go to college or university, as everyone seems to, she always knew that music was something that was supposed to be part of her path. She wasn’t necessarily sure at the time how she was supposed to live it, but it was her dream. Today, she’s grateful to be able to live that dream.
Growing up in a musical household, Sacha listened to Janis Joplin, The Doors, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Madonna and Whitney Houston. Patsy Cline was always in the rotation. Her musical influences drove a more rootsy, folk, americana vibe.
She’s currently listening to Cam, Marren Morris, Mickey Guyton, and Lindsay Ell. She’s also really into Rascal Flatts and their current single, “How They Remember You”.
Sacha can’t wait for an opportunity to play some music live and connect with people in person. She’s looking forward to travelling down to Nashville when it’s safe as well.
Sacha loves people, she’s a people person. She wants to empower people to go after their dreams and goals, make the impossible, possible. Her best tool for achieving this connection and empowering people is through music.
“I love to connect with people, the stage is home, and the audience is my family.”

Lyrics to “Standards” By Sacha
I like a man with manners, he make his mama proud
It can’t be manufactured, gotta come natural
And baby, ooh
That ain’t you, that just ain’t you
You come off sweet at first, but you got a sour side
You’re like a fancy label stuck on some cheap wine
Yeah, baby, you
I see through, I see right through
I don’t know what you heard
But that bubble ’bout to get burst
‘Cause I got standards
I got standards
I ain’t tryna invest
In a man who ain’t passing the test
‘Cause I got standards
I got standards
Yeah, I got standards
It only matters how you treat me
Ooh (Oh, oh)
Don’t need his credit rating, don’t care what car he drives
The kinda guy I’m dating don’t live for dollar signs
But, baby, you
That’s all (All) you (You) do (Hey)
‘Cause the kinda guy for me (Gives me little letters)
Every inside joke we have (He always remembers)
Not even wearin’ makeup and he’s all over me
Makes me forget my insecurities, oh
I don’t know what you heard
But that bubble ’bout to get burst
‘Cause I got standards
I got standards
I ain’t tryna invest
In a man who ain’t passing the test
‘Cause I got standards
I got standards
It only matters how ya treat me
R-E-S-P-E-C-T me
It only matters how you treat me
R-E-S-P-E-C-T me
It only matters how you treat me
Only matters how you treat me, yeah
I don’t know what you heard
But that bubble ’bout to get burst
‘Cause I got standards
I got standards
They say, “Follow your gut”
And, baby, you ain’t making the cut
‘Cause I got standards
I, I got standards
(I got standards)
I got standards
(I got standards)
Oh, oh (Oh, oh)
You’re not making the cut, boy
Only matters how you treat me (Oh, oh)
R-E-S-P-E-C-T me (Oh, oh)
